Friday May 20th, 2011 had a forecast with a high probability of rain. However, when I woke up that morning I had a feeling the rain would stay away. Asha and Brent were to be married on this beautiful friday at the end of May, how could it possibly rain? Though I did prepare for the worst (non stop showers) by packing umbrellas and camera covers, I approached the day with an attitude that “beautiful pictures will be made today no matter what!” Later that day I arrived at the Brookwood Inn, in historic Pittsford, NY. Asha greeted me at the door and her smile was bright and cheery. This was an ecstatic Bride and she could not wait for all the joyous events that were to come!
Soon after arriving the Bridal makeup session began. Becky Atwood, a local Mary Kay Saleswoman and Asha’s cousin, performed the honors. As I witnessed the makeup session from start to finish I saw Asha show many sincere expressions of emotion. She would warmly smile as Becky talked to her and then gaze into the distance indicating serious thought. I took pictures non stop, these were the expressions of a stunning Bride mentally preparing for the momentous day ahead.

Asha picked out a beautiful white dress with elegantly draped fabric. The shoes were open toed and vibrantly navy blue in color. The suite she was staying in was luxurious and had had a classically decorated bedroom to use for giving the dress and shoes their well deserved spotlight.

Three floors up in the same hotel Brent, his groomsmen, his father and father-in-law to be were getting ready for the ceremony as well. It was a room filled with great spirit and anticipation. Brent’s mood matched Asha’s perfectly. He was ready to meet his precious Bride at the altar just down the road at the Burgundy Basin.

Before leaving I visited Asha’s hotel room again and took some Bridal portraits before she was to leave for the ceremony. With my assistant outside the hotel window we were able to capture Asha from both an inside and outside angle. Asha could not have looked more glamorous!

The Wedding Ceremony was held outside in front of a beautiful white gazebo on the plush green grounds of the Burgundy Basin. Asha walked down the isle at about 6:30 P.M. The soft yellow sun was shining, the sky was a clear light blue, and the wind every so slightly elevated Asha’s vail behind her as she walked toward her Groom. The ceremony was filled with laughter and love.

I’ll never forget the look Asha gave Brent after he said “I do.” What she was thinking, I’ll never know. However, this image captured the unique chemistry that they share.

As they put rings onto each other’s fingers, the anticipation grew with the friends and family gathered at the ceremony for their first kiss.

And a beautiful first kiss it was…

Shortly before the end of the ceremony Asha showed all her inner bliss with this unforgettable smile.

A few moments later, Asha and Brent walked down the isle into the warm sunlight together as Man and Wife.

The reception followed and it was also at the Burgundy Basin. The Bride and Groom enjoyed their first dinner as a married couple with all of their closest family and friends. The first dances followed with many tears of joy and frequent laugher. The white cake with different shades of blue frosted leaves was cut and lovingly shared by the Bride and Groom. Classic dance music played late into the night to celebrate this wonderful day in Asha and Brent’s lives.

I am so honored that Asha and Brent asked me to Photograph their Wedding Day. If I had to some up their Wedding Day in three words they would be: live, love and laugh. I truly wish this special couple nothing but the best as they now embark on their married lives together!
